Since 1923, the Sisters of St. Francis have occupied the hillside oasis in the South Hills of Pennsylvania, known as Mt. Providence. They created, cultivated and cared for their property, establishing chapels, schools, homes and their presence in the community. Recently, Penn Cove has taken on the lands next phase of stewardship. As they take the land forward, bringing new life to the historic site, Penn Cove knew that the new development must also acknowledge and pay homage to the history that has come before them. Therefore, (Mt.) Providence and (Penn) Cove come together to create Providence Cove.
