Phone & Data Cabling

Phone & data cabling is required to get outlets installed at desks and other locations throughout your space.   Two cable “drops” are recommended for each work position .  An office of 10-20 people can be cabled in 5 working days, but allow extra time for working around schedules of other vendors.

Keys to a QuickMove:

• Know how many positions you are going to cable: include not only workspaces, but also networked devices like printers, scanners, and copy machines and make sure to allow for growth of your staff.
• Have an idea of where you will locate your cabling hub or server room: this will be the location where all cables are wired back to.
• If “pre-existing” cables cables have already been unplugged from a prior tenants’ equipment, it may take more work to test and reconfigure than to simply install new cable.
