Construction of the long-needed I-680 access is now underway. The north access ramp is now open and located directly behind the subject property. Several other access ramps that are under construction on the west side of I-680 will also benefit the property. Completion of this freeway project will provide access to Dublin that did not exist prior to this construction. In addition to new freeway access, the immediate area to the west will include new development for Safeway Stores, Home Expo (a Home Depot home furnishings store), and other retailers. Several miles to the east of the subject property, there is substantial new commercial, office, and residential development that includes portions of the former Camp Parks. Dublin has an estimated population of approximately 35,200 and a projected household income in the year 2000 of $68,600. These cities have enjoyed substantial growth in recent years and are preferred areas to live and work because of their proximity to the entire Bay Area.
